Are You Where You Need To Be?

“You make known to me the path of life; you fill me with joy in your presence. (Psalm 6:11)

I saw this Facebook post by someone I follow on Instagram as a health enthusiast:

I am exactly where I need to be.  In every aspect of life –
physically, spiritually, mentally, emotionally.
(by Erin Parekh)

It hit me.  Maybe what she said is something I should ask – of God.

Lord, am I exactly where You want me to be –
physically, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally?

If I had asked this question a couple of years ago, I wouldn’t have been so sure.  In many ways, God did me a favor when He allowed an MS diagnosis and the subsequent cancer discovery.  It all prompted me to follow His directive to restore my temple – to get healthy and take care of myself, in all four areas.

The Lord will guide you continually,
giving you water when you are dry
and restoring your strength.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like an ever-flowing spring. (Isaiah 58:11)

Mental and emotional stability seem to align automatically when you follow the Lord in a lifestyle of health – natural by-products, so to speak.  As I pondered this post, I wondered how you would answer the question I posed to God about myself.

Where You Need To Be @ EmbraceThisSeason.com

Can you be honest with Him about all these areas and listen to what He says?  What He might want you to do?  Areas He may want you to address?  Let the Holy Spirit be your guide.

But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative — that is, the Holy Spirit — he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you. (John 14:26)

I pray you get it straight with the Lord today.  You deserve the honesty that these areas will bring.  God loves you and wants always the exact best for you.  His exact best for you.  So, what do you say?

Because He lives~

    Dear Sweet Kim,
What wisdom!! I recently had a significant health scare, spent 4 nights in the hospital extremely sick with a severe colon infection that I had not paid attention to. We were selling our house and I got so involved in going through the OVERWHELMING amount of “stuff” I had accumulated over the 32 yrs. of living in my 2550 sq ft house. A 12×24 ft. craft space in the garage and a storage bldg in the back yard also housed my numerous ‘treasures’. I became very focused, also being pushed by my ‘type A’ personality husband to get the task accomplished; sorting, packing what I wanted to keep, boxing for the upcoming auction… Through the process I became uncomfortable in my lower abdomen but passed it off as overwork, soreness, etc, after all I’m knocking on 60. Bottom line I had neglected the Probiotic and a couple other things I was supposed to take in my endeavor and by the time I went to the hospital I was looking at the possibility of emergency surgery and staring death in the eye! Let’s just say this episode literally scared me to my core! I came out of that hospital with a total different outlook on life!!
I don’t know what my future holds as I heal and pray that there are no serious repercussions from the very strong, massive doses of antibiotics that were pumped into my system but I know that this has been an extremely life changing experience. I got rid of a LOT more stuff and then through the lack of knowledge that there was a back door to our storage unit that didn’t get locked and someone helped themselves to some of that stuff (which sadly included some art supplies that were pretty pricey that I had collected over the years). God has such a way of getting us to look at our priorities that’s for sure!! I’m so grateful every day for God’s mercy, forgiveness of even the most horrific sins, and His second, third, fourth… chances in this life.
I’m not where I need to be but I’m striving in all those areas to head that direction. I’m just so, so sorry and regretful that I wasted so many years, hurt so many others, and failed to be all that God wanted me to be.
Thank God for ‘wake-up’ calls! The alarm has sounded.
Thank you for allowing me to share and thank you for sharing the wisdom God has given you!
    God bless,
    Belinda

      Wow, Belinda! Thank you for sharing all of that. What a tap on the shoulder from God, ey? I see it as His favor to get our attention. I reacted in much the same way as you, getting rid of many household things. (I’m now wishing to downsize but hubs isn’t into that. Anyway, as God leads . . .}
The probiotics will help tremendously to combat the blast from antibiotics that were so important to recover from your illness. Praise God for your progress there! And, yes, God continues to flood us with His love when we mess up or rebel. We’ve all done it, and He remains faithful! I’m praying for you in your continuing journeys to build your temple and strengthen your faith in our loving Lord. Hugs, Sista! 🙂

Prayers for you as well and I’m serious, not just saying! God is faithful when we help share each other’s burdens.
    Love your blog as always!
